After serving an enlistment in the military, Charles returned to his Georgia roots and settled into an east Atlanta suburb with his young bride and went to work in the automotive industry as an import mechanic. While attending a church in Lithonia, GA he had an incredible encounter with God where he experienced the depth of the love of Christ. This encounter launched him headlong into a bi-vocational ministry that has ranged from the prison cell to the pulpit. “I don’t know that I was ever officially called, I just saw a cause and went to work”.
For the last 23 years he has worked for First Baptist Atlanta as fleet and Facilities Manager. As a problem solver and rogue scholar, Charles is passionate about developing people, building effective teams, and creating an atmosphere that inspires worship. Currently he serves as the Facilities Director at Peachtree Church where he gets to do these very things every day. Facility management is about bringing all of the various moving parts together to create a positive worship experience for everyone that comes through the doors. When he’s not at Peachtree you can find him in the kitchen with his wife Tracy, or standing in a north Georgia stream attempting to fool a trout.
