Prayer Requests
The need is great for teaching and proclaiming the true gospel all across the western mountains of Honduras. This need is so much greater than any two people can accomplish so please join us in praying Luke 10:2 which reads, “And He was saying to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.;” We believe this is a prayer the Lord will answer so we are trusting Him to provide the right person or people to come serve Him here with us.
Please pray for Jean and me, and the leadership of this ministry, in both the U.S. and Honduras, for wisdom as we think and plan strategically about how to go about fulfilling God’s plans and purposes that He has for us and the people He loves and created who live in this part of Honduras where we serve.
Please pray for the last two mission teams of 2025 coming to serve with us this month. The first is a team coming to help us with construction and water purification at the Ruben House. The second team is coming to help us with the implementation of a digital medical records system and computer training at the Ruben House among other activities. Please pray for safe travels both in the air and on the roads in Honduras, for health and effectiveness.
Please pray for us as we work hard to push two construction projects across the finish line this year.
Please pray for the Lord to provide the rest of the financial resources that will be needed for the remainder of 2025. Please pray for a very specific grant that we applied for in June. We should hear next week if we made the first cut and are still in the running. This grant would be a tremendous financial blessing for LCDR.
We have one crate remaining that has not yet been shipped to us from the U.S. Please continue to pray for favor as we work out details with the shipper and Honduras customs so that these items will arrive safely and soon without exaggerated cost.
Please continue to pray for the two surgeries (for Nohemi and Seidy) to happen soon. This has been such a long struggle for them and us with little more to show for it than disappointment thus far.
Please continue to pray for chronic health situations with some of our family members stateside. Please ask the Lord to give us wisdom to know what we can do and when we can do it.
Please pray for Jean and me to stay healthy so that we can continue to serve effectively.
Please pray for the continued spiritual growth and development of everyone at La Casa De Rubén.
Please pray for the health and well-being of both the patients and the staff at LCDR.
As most of our students have, or will be graduating from university soon, please pray for us as we identify and interview candidates, and for the Lord to reveal to us the exact students He would like for us to enroll in the Outstanding Student Scholarship Program.
Please pray for us as we are making plans for our year end visit(s) to the states. We have a lot of personal things we would like to do but there are also plenty of ministry and fundraising activities that must be done.
Please pray for the people and nation of Honduras. This is an election year (the voting will take place November 30th). The last election and transition of power went very well but that is not always the case. Please pray for a peaceful rest of the campaign season, election process and transition of power.
Praises
We are praising the Lord for the power wheelchairs that were received recently. Ruben and Rosalina now have a whole new level of independence by simply being able to move about the house whenever they want without having to ask someone for help.
We are praising the Lord for a new to us mobility van that we received earlier this year. It has needed some attention but it is now ready to be put into service.
Praise the Lord for all of the excellent ministry that has taken place with each of the teams who came to serve with us so far. Important construction projects were started and advanced, more than 300 people who came to our medical clinics received medicine, medical advice and treatment. Nearly 50 soon to be moms also received free ultrasounds, which are a critical part of their prenatal care but unaffordable. More importantly all who came to the medical and ultrasound clinics were ministered to through prayer and the gospel was shared with them.
Many Bibles, Missions Messengers and tracts were distributed both at the medical clinics and in the communities where we did house visits.
We also had the opportunity to minister to a couple hundred children in three different schools.
