Greg Hines, Co Founder & President of FHD Honduras

Long before Greg Hines thought about becoming a missionary, he received a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting. However, it did not take for him long to realize that sitting at a desk crunching numbers all day was not really for him. Desiring a change he spent much of his professional career in different manufacturing companies doing purchasing, logistics, inventory management, and systems and process improvement. He also served as the Facilities Director for a large church in Atlanta. In 2012 as part of God’s transition plan to full- time missions ministry, he and his wife Jean began a family coffee importing business called Abundant Life Coffee in 2012.

Although he enjoys music very much Greg does not sing or play guitar, so leading worship is not a part of his ministry. Rather, his ministry is to work alongside local pastors and congregations to encourage, empower, and equip them for greater ministry. He and his wife Jean plan and coordinate the activities of an average of 12 short-term mission teams per year who come to serve in and around La Campa. Much of ministry involves planning and logistics, so it turns out that all of those years of leadership roles in manufacturing and facilities management are paying off. Greg enjoys reading and writing, and even preaching occasionally.

Greg currently serves as the president of Family Health & Development Foundation and as an advisor to the board of directors of FHD Missions, Inc., the complementary non-profit he helped to establish in the U.S. The goal of these organizations is to mobilize resources to break down the barriers preventing Honduran families from receiving medical care and rehabilitation services they need.
